At the European National Directors’ Conference 2009 we want to study Revelation 2 and John 13. We pray that we can renew our first love to Jesus through this conference and build an influential and spiritual unity. Furthermore, we pray that we can do best preparations for the European SBC and give God the glory through teamwork for the ministry of disciple-making and one-to-one bible study. During this time of preparation we want to lay a foundation through our more than 1000 united prayers in order to invite more than 1000 attendants to this conference, and challenge the campus mission in Europe once again.

1 Corinthians 15:1-11

* The saints in Corinth (1,2)

1. Of what did Paul remind the Christians in Corinth? Why did they need such a reminder? Point out what the following verses reveal about Corinth and the problems of the Corinthians: 1:22,26,28; 1:12; 11:18; 5:1; 8:1; 11:21; Chapter 13!

* Jesus died for our sins (3)

2. Why is it a good news that Christ died for our sins? (Lk 2:10) How widespread is the problem of sin and what does sin do with mankind? (Rom 3:23,12; Jes 59:2)

* Future glory (18-25)

1. Why does Paul talk about the future glory compared to the sufferings? How do the sufferings and the future glory relate to each other?

2. Why, when, from who and with which hope was the creation subjected to frustration? Which hope do we have for the world and for ourselves? (18-25) Why is this a secure hope? How do our hopes determine the direction of our life and our attitude towards life?

* God’s resolution (26-32)

3. What is God’s will and purpose for us? How does God work to fulfil this? How can we be certain that God loves us? What should this practically mean to us?

4. What did God predetermine concerning the saints? (29) Why is it such a big privilege and grace to be conformed to the likeness of the Son? Describe God’s work for us! (30)

2. From what are we saved? Which creature does our new freedom have? (7:6; 2ff) Why was the law not able to solve the sin problem and death problem?

3. What does it mean to live according to the sinful nature? What does it mean to have a sinful mind? What is the result?

4. What does it mean to live in accordance with the Spirit? What does it mean to have a spiritual mind? What is the result? (6) Why is the sinful mind hostile to God? Why can’t this please God and give us freedom?
