History: The work of UBF began 1961 in South Korea. Sarah Barry, an American Presbyterian missionary and Samuel Lee, a Korean pastor in Kwangju, began an evangelistic outreach to Korean university students because they knew about the difficulties following the Korean War. They decided to invite students to study the Bible. The students, who started to believe in Jesus Christ, established small group Bible studies and fellowship meetings in universities, first of all in Kwangju, then in the nearby provinces and finally countrywide. This movement soon became an independent Christian student movement.

What we believe: The basis of our faith is the Bible. We believe that the Bible is the word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible represents the standard of faith and act to us. We affirm the Apostle’s Creed.

Activities:

- One-to-one Bible study or in groups by agreement.

- Sunday worship services in our churches.

- Bible meetings, journeys and international conferences, on which we are able to praise God and think together about the word of God.

The Hospital project is born from the Love of God Almighty for the poor.

We, medical missionaries from Korea, have been touched by the suffering of the poor people of Uganda. Most of them are unable to afford basic treatment for even treatable diseases. Our vision is to see that the poor in Uganda is assisted through provision of competent medical attention to the needy so that their life-span is prolonged to enable them to serve the Lord.

In Genesis 2, God revealed his wonderful love by creating a paradise and put mankind there. Since Adam’s fall, however, human beings have been under the curse and suffer from various diseases and hardships. The God of love sent his One and Only Son in order to do the work of regeneration. God wants us to live healthy life spiritually and physically.

Jesus summarized the life of Christians in Matthew 22:37 and 39, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Through this project we want to share the love of Jesus with the poor in Uganda and we have a conviction and feel positively that our contribution will be worthwhile.

Das Krankenhausprojekt wurde von dem allmächtigen Gott für die Armen geboren.

Wir, die ärztlichen Missionare aus Korea, sind durch das Leiden der armen Menschen in Uganda sehr bewegt worden. Die meisten von ihnen können keine grundlegende Behandlung für sogar behandelbare Krankheiten leisten. Unsere Vision ist es, zu sehen, dass die Armut in Uganda durch Versorgung von fachkundiger medizinischer Obacht für die Notleidenden unterstützt wird, sodass ihre Lebensdauer länger angehalten werden kann, dem Herrn zu dienen.

Jesus fasste das Leben der Christen in Matthäus 22,37.39 zusammen: „Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, lieben von ganzem Herzen, von ganzer Seele und von ganzem Gemüt.“ „Du sollst deinen Nächsten lieben wie dich selbst.“

Durch dieses Projekt möchten wir die Liebe Jesu mit den Armen in Uganda teilen. Wir sind überzeugt davon, dass unser Beitrag lohnenswert sein wird.

The orchestra serves not only the worship service accompaniment. Furthermore, music helps young people also to exercise themselves in discipline, to learn cooperation and to practice a live of giving. Our God has blessed this work of orchestra abundantly. Under the direction of conductor Gloria Chrustowski the young people played at varied concerts in their home country and abroad and gave many people at such concerts joy and encouragement.

Like in a professional symphony orchestra all genres of instruments are represented: Strings, woodwinds, brass and percussions. Regular rehearsal is every Saturday at 4:00 pm in the EM – Hall (Auf der Kaiserfuhr 39).

Interested young people who play an instrument are always cordially welcome to play with us together for the glory of God. Have courage, we are all lays and are happy for every attendant!
