North Korean Night

Pastor Ok-Hi Denker Park: “Let us constantly pray for North Korea”

Germany UBF hosts The 2nd North Korea Mission Night

On October 31, Germany UBF hosted the 2nd North Korea Mission Night. About 100 missionaries, German natives and 2nd Generations attended the meeting, which was held in Bonn UBF chapter.

Pastor Ok-Hi Denker Park, who had visited North Korea this April, was invited as the speaker. Pastor Park had served UBF nurse missionaries during the 60’s and 70’s through Bible study. Currently she and her husband Pastor Denker dedicate themselves to Korean-German Mission.

Pastor Park reported about the current situation of North Korea by presenting pictures she took during her 10 day trip to North Korea. She also announced prayer topics for North Korea and urged the attendants to join the prayer for North Korea.

On this evening, Pastor Park preached about the faith of a Canaanite woman based on Matthew 15:21-28 with the title “Great Faith.” She said that great faith is “Mega Faith” in Greek.

Pastor Park encouraged the attendants to learn from the Canaanite woman who asked for Jesus’ grace humbly even though Jesus humiliated her by comparing her with a dog. She urged us to have “Mega Faith” and pray without giving up by believing in the Lord’s grace.

After her preaching, she encouraged the attendants, “Let us constantly pray for North Korea and reunitification of Korea without giving up.” All the attendants had a time to pray together for North Korea. Currently UBF is praying for North Korea, China, and Muslim Mission and to send out 100,000 missionaries to 233 nations until 2041, which is the 80th anniversary of its foundation.

Below are the prayer topics for North Korea announced by Pastor Park.

Prayer Topics:
1. Possessing Bible means death, not only the possessor, but all of his family and relaties. Pray for freedom to read the Bible in North Korea.
2. Thousands of mini radios that can receive Christian radios are supplied by a South Korean Christian radio station, “Far East Broadcasting.” However they lack of batteries. Please pray for it.
3. There are more than 200,000 people imprisoned in 25 labor camps. Especially, Christians are being treated like an animal. Please pray for them to hold on to their faith and overcome the 18 hours of daily labor. Please pray for their freedom.
4. Please pray for peaceful reunification of Korea. Please pray that the prayers for reunification may not be ceased.
