World Mission Report 2008

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)

On April 12th, 2008, we had the first UBF World Mission Report in the Town Hall of Köln-Mülheim. At this World Mission Report we could see God’s mighty work in different continents through UBF and plant God’s hope and vision into the hearts of students, to participate in the World Mission. Besides the powerful message of Pastor Ron Ward, from Chicago, about Acts 1:8, we could hear 8 life testimonies and mission reports by which God’s living work in each continent was revealed. We also had some interesting programs between the reports, like singspiration, orchestra, choir and dancing.

God’s work through the World Mission Report was possible, as Cologne UBF and Bonn UBF co-worked with one heart under the leadership of Dr. Peter Chang. Responsible co-workers met for prayer meetings, stayed up many nights for translation and preparing power points, decoration, served the guests, and practiced orchestra, choir, and dancing. Shep. Walter Nett and other leaders took off from their jobs in order to support the speakers’ preparation of the mission reports. The programs were accompanied by the orchestra comprised of six UBF centers, Cologne and Bonn UBF joint choir, special music, and dancing under the leadership of Msn Gloria Chrustowski and Shep. Johannes Chang. Especially, the dynamic dance of the young generation impressed all attendants.

This World Mission Report was very meaningful in the following three aspects:

First, the vessel and spirit of the co-workers in Germany and Europe for the world mission could be restored and all co-workers were encouraged to challenge the campus mission in Germany and Europe once again. Even many Bible students received vision and decided to go out as missionaries.

Second, this World Mission Report was the starting point to deepen our relationship with other Christian organizations like "Evangelic Alliance" and KOSTE (Korean Student Mission Europe) and pray for the world mission together. Pastors who attended realized that UBF is the work of God and wanted to work with us together.

Third, it was a prayer meeting and a preparation for the 2008 International Purdue Summer Bible Conference. We decided ourselves to prepare the conference with all our hearts by 3.000 united prayers and to send a powerful prayer team from Germany and Europe to the conference.

May God richly bless the spiritual leadership and servantship of Msn. Dr. John Jun for the world mission and the preparation of the Purdue Summer Bible Conference. May God also bless the leadership of Msn. Dr. Peter Chang for Europe UBF and use Germany and Europe as missionary sending nations.

One Word: Preach the gospel to all creations.
