Romans 8:1-17

* Freedom in the law of the Spirit (1-4)

1. Why is there no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus? (5:1-11,16; 6:6,7; 7:6) What does this mean? What does it mean to you?

2. From what are we saved? Which creature does our new freedom have? (7:6; 2ff) Why was the law not able to solve the sin problem and death problem?

3. What does it mean to live according to the sinful nature? What does it mean to have a sinful mind? What is the result?

4. What does it mean to live in accordance with the Spirit? What does it mean to have a spiritual mind? What is the result? (6) Why is the sinful mind hostile to God? Why can’t this please God and give us freedom?

5. Who reigns over the Christians? What is the result when the Spirit of Christ is in our souls? What is the source of changing power of the Spirit? What does it mean that we have mortal bodies? What does it mean that he will give life to our mortal bodies?

6. To what do we have an obligation? Why don’t we have an obligation to the sinful nature? What happens if we are led by the sinful nature? What is the result if we are led by the Spirit?
